Free Download: Printable Floral Colouring Bookmarks

Printable Colouring Bookmarks for Immediate Download
As a parent, you don't get much time to read. But it's important that you do.

There are many benefits: you're emphasising the importance of reading and modeling it to your children, you're giving your brain an exercise instead of leaving to go to mush, you learn new things, your conversations will be much better with your partner and friends because it won't be child-focused all the time, and if you're reading parenting books then you'll learn new skills.

Before you shake your head at the idea of reading, just realise that even ten minutes a day is good enough. When I was at school there was a reading program called 'Drop Everything and Read'. After recess, we'd come in and had to read for ten minutes. The idea is the same here. Choose a quiet time - when baby is napping or when the children are in bed and get your ten minutes of reading time. It will improve your mind, in sha Allah.

So to encourage you to read more, I've made some bookmarks. You can download, print and colour them in.

I'd like to give a few words of thanks to my niece, Rabeah, who've drawn them. She actually doodled them while sitting in lectures at university. One day she was studying and I saw them among her books. They were too lovely so I photocopied them. I then scanned them onto my computer and there they sat...until I thought to put them onto bookmarks!

They are really pretty! I hope you love them as much as I do. Go ahead and print out a few extra ones for your friends.

Let me know what you think of them and I'll pass along any compliments to my niece.

You can download the bookmarks here. I'd love to see any finished bookmarks!

(Since then, I've asked my niece to draw up some more for me but she said she couldn't when pressured to do so. It has to come naturally. Artists are so temperamental! :)

A book that I'd highly recommend is Stephen Covey's 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families'. This is one of the first books on parenting that I've read and it's really good. If you decide to get it then please use my affiliate link below.

    1. Yes, so very important and if they have their own lovely bookmarks then it might motivate them to read more. InshaAllah, we can only hope.

  8. I love reading and try to alternate between paperbacks & kindle, but I never find my bookmarks when I need them only to discover them later in some favourite books.

I know the young ones will enjoy colouring these - the designs are lovely - they always like making their own bookmarks.

    1. I love reading too and most things these days are in electronic form. I do read from my kindle app and from pdf downloads on my pc but I find that the best way to read is to snuggle down in bed or a comfy sofa with a book. It's so hard to snuggle with a pc or the iphone/ipad :D
